Your Guide to SPF

It’s that time of the year where the sun is stronger and we’re spending more time on the beach or by the pool, meaning we’re in constant need of restocking our spf bottles. But the question is…What spf should I be using and how often do I really need to reapply it?

We’ve got all the answers you need to prepare you for Spring and Summer’s sunny weather.

You may hear us talking about spf a lot, but it’s because it’s one of the most important elements to your skincare routine. No matter what the weather is doing, you should be wearing spf every day…and reapplying!

Why do I need to reapply my spf?

There are multiple reasons why you need to reapply your spf and before you ask…yes, you have to reapply even if you haven’t been in the water!

Sun exposure breaks down your spf. The sun’s UV rays cause the active ingredients in your sunscreen to start to break down, which will lead to your skin to eventually not be protected, hence why you need to reapply your sunscreen.

What sunscreen is best for my skin?

First things first, you need to be checking if the spf is 30 or higher, preferably spf 50 as this is the highest level of protection.

Next, look for a product with a broad spectrum. This means that the spf product protects your skin from both UVA and UVB rays.

UVA - Ultraviolet A radiation

UVB - Ultraviolet B radiation

We all know that the sun can cause sun damage or burn to our skin if we're not careful. We spoke with our beauty therapist about sun damage and pigmentation, which will provide you with everything you need to know.

We’ve helped you out and have put together our top spf products.
